Ali v Liston 2

Haye fights Valuev instead!

After long negotiations with the Klitschko camp failed to come to an agreement, David Haye has now signed to fight WBA champ Nikolai Valuev instead.

The fight is supposed to be taking place on 7 November and it will certainly be a David v Goliath match, with Haye being outweighed by around 8 stone and giving away a foot in height.

There is a potential spanner in the works though in the shape of perennial contender John Ruiz. He is the mandatory challenger for the WBA title and is insisting he is due another shot at Valuev for the title.

Hopefully things can be sorted out since this is an intrigueing match-up.
