Controversial Decision As Fury Given Verdict Over McDermott
There was huge controversy in Brentwood as Tyson Fury was given a wide verdict by referee Terry O'Connor. Nearly everyone had McDermott the winner and surely a rematch must be ordered.
The referees 98 - 92 score was amazingly wide for Fury and whilst a possible case could be made for the fight being very close it seemed to most observers that Mcdermott had won by 3 or 4 rounds.
Fury felt he'd done enough and McDermott was gutted. Both seemed happy to do a rematch and I think this must happen.
