Juan Diaz outpoints Malignaggi - cries of robbery

A controversial decision was given by the judges in Texas as Juan Diaz was given a unanimous verdict over Paulie Malignaggi.

Diaz v Malignaggi

The fight was scored 118-110, 115-113 and 116-112 all for Diaz. Most TV viewers and spectators at ringside felt that Paulie Malignaggi may have done enough to earn a victory and the 118-110 score was particularly out of line for many.

Diaz constantly came forward looking to turn the fight into a brawl but Malignaggi's slick boxing was very effective and he looked in control of a number of rounds.

Paulie complained bitterly about the hometown decision and was far from happy with the rongside judges. Osacr De La Hoya whose company promoted the fight was also shocked by the judges verdict.
