Taylor KO'd in 12th Again!

Arthur Abraham capped off a dominant performance against Jermain Taylor by finding a last round KO from an accurate straight right through Taylor's guard.

It was a fantastic shot that had Taylor out immediately. The ref dispensed with the count as the medical staff entered the ring. Taylor was back on his feet again shortly afterwards.

Taylor started off the fight brightly as Abraham advanced behind a tight, high and very effective guard. Abraham was taking most of the punches on his gloves but he wasn't doing much himself to win the first couple of rounds.

As the fight wore on Abraham would unleash bursts of hard punches before continuing to advance with his high guard. Jermain would throw jabd and rights but nearly all at Abraham's gloves. Jermain would also try body shots but Abraham also effectively covered his body with his forearms and elbows, at one stage causing Taylor to get deducted a point for low blows.

Abraham was jabbing well by the fifth and sixth and using his energy wisely. Taylor was badly hurt in the ninth by some heavy punches and he was hanging on. Arthur failed to press home the advantage though.

Going into the final round it was clear that Abraham was a few rounds ahead and still very strong, whereas Taylor's usual stamina problem was probably in his mind. Abraham came on strong at times in the last and in the final 20 seconds threw a left hook followed by the straight right hand on the button that finished it.

Great start to the Super Six from Abraham who looks very strong at super-middle but you have to worry for Taylor after another conclusive last round KO. Taylor still has the boxing skills there but he's going to need more than that against Kessler and Ward.
